Carry-on Baggage Allowance
For ALL V Australia flights, the following allowances apply:

* Medical assistance items (crutches, wheelchairs etc) are exempt from this requirement.
NOTE: The total dimensions are determined by adding together the length, height and width of the bag.
Personal Items
In addition to the carry-on baggage allowance, ONE of the following personal items may be carried in the cabin:
- A handbag, pocket book or purse, which is appropriate to normal travelling dress and is not being used as a container for the transportation of articles which would otherwise be regarded as checked baggage.
- A briefcase or personal computer.
- An overcoat, wrap or blanket.
- An umbrella (excluding umbrellas with sharp/metal points) or walking stick.
- A small camera and/or a pair of binoculars.
- A reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight.
- Infant food for consumption in-flight.
All other articles, including: overnight bags, vanity cases, large cameras carried as cabin baggage represent one carry-on bag equivalent. For exceptions or enquiries about matters such as prosthetic devices and crutches, please contact our Guest Contact Centre.
Liquids, Aerosols and Gels
Liquids, aerosols and gels are only permitted through the international security checkpoint in restricted quantities. For further details please refer to Enhanced Security Measures .Items not Permitted
Sharps
For safety reasons, some countries do not allow sharp objects such as; scissors, nail files and pocket knives, to be taken through the airport security screening point. If sharps are detected by security screening they will be confiscated. We recommend you place these items in your checked baggage prior to checking-in.These restrictions do not apply to those Guests who require the use of syringes for medical use (e.g. diabetics). Aviation security measures allow for these items to be carried onboard an aircraft after they have been screened.
Weapons
Any items that are perceived by V Australia Ground Crew or security personnel to be able to be used as a weapon may not be permitted to be taken through the airport security screening point.Inflated Balls
All inflated balls (e.g. football, basketball) must travel in the hold of the aircraft as checked baggage. Balloons and other inflatable toys are permitted in the cabin provided they are not inflated.Bulky Cabin Items
V Australia may accept bulky or fragile items above the standard carry-on baggage size, such as large musical instruments or diplomatic baggage, to be carried in the aircraft cabin. Guests may need to purchase an additional seat to accommodate the item.
V Australia requires a minimum of 15 days notice, prior to the day of travel, for bulky cabin items to be approved for carriage. For further information please contact the Guest Contact Centre.
