A Message from V Australia's Executive General Manager Scott

In my role as Executive General Manager of V Australia, I’ve drawn on my past experience in getting Virgin Blue off the ground. Being part of the launch of Virgin Blue Airlines was incredible, and something I am very proud and honoured to have been a part of. Many countless, valuable lessons were learnt along the way - which will hopefully help guide the establishment of V Australia.

I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to launch an international airline, but particularly one within the Virgin Blue family. The values and spirit which make Virgin Blue different - everything from our personal service to the great people - have been carried across to V Australia. So to create something new, with an extraordinary bunch of people all working towards the one goal, is truly an incredible experience.

I am fortunate to head a team of so many amazing, motivated and talented people, who all have an incredible drive to reach their goals, both personally and professionally. At each step along the way, I love celebrating the successes with these people, and the success we will become as the airline continues to grow!

During my time at V Australia, I would have to say the most important lesson I have learnt so far has been to recruit the best people and challenge yourself and them every day. Life is full of challenges.  Don’t be afraid of the challenge because with the support of a strong, united team all working towards a common goal, it can provide you with the greatest personal satisfaction of what can be achieved.

I also believe that ultimately, you must keep to your own core principles and remain well grounded. If you remain true to yourself, and live by those values day by day, it makes it much easier to do the right thing.

When that beautiful Virgin Blue red jet flies through the sky, I still find myself squinting at it in admiration. It is the ultimate to know that I was part of the Virgin Blue team who made that possible. I look forward to that happening in the very near future for the team building V Australia.
